2020 Lake Macquarie Landcare Environmental Excellence in Landcare Awards

As event planning in 2020 was a little difficult due to Covid, it was decided that this year the Lake Macquarie Environmental Excellence in Landcare Awards would proceed in a digital capacity. Local Legend Award

A Landcarer who has made a regular and colossal contribution for more than 2 years and who:

  • works regularly on their project
  • motivates their group
  • implements best practice natural resource management shares their knowledge and experiences

Nancy Lott and Stephen Lott- Eleebana Residences Landcare

 

Community Education Award

A Landcarer who spreads the Landcare ethic within the general community by:

  • Raising awareness within the general community of natural resource management and the Landcare ethic
  • Utilising various media to raise awareness e.g. booklets, newsletters, social media, Progress Association meetings, school projects, field days.

Landcare Achievers Award

A Landcarer whose dedication to Landcare is an inspiration to everyone and who:

  • Undertakes a special achievement during the last twelve months
  • Makes a significant improvement to their Landcare site

10 Years Service Award

A Landcarer who has been undertaking Landcare activities for 10 years or more and whose dedication to Landcare is an inspiration to everyone.

A Landcarer who has been undertaking Landcare activities for 20 years or more and whose dedication to Landcare is an inspiration to everyone.

In recognition of environmental achievement for a group formed for less than 2 years which has been:

  • Conducting regular working bees in line with the Agreed Action Plan
  • Raising awareness and involving the community
  • Building group membership
  • Developing a vision and objectives together
  • Promoting cooperation and sharing responsibility

In recognition of environmental achievement for a group which has been functioning for over 5 years by:

  • Conducting regular working bees in line with the Agreed Action Plan
  • Mobilising additional community members to join in community efforts

  • Allowing and encouraging data collection, monitoring of change over time and reporting of site improvements
  • Maximising opportunities for participation
